The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चिज्जडौ चित्र एकत्र न तौ संमिलतः क्वचित् ।
चिन्मयत्वाच्चिदालम्भश्चिदालम्भेन वेदनम् ॥ ४० ॥

cijjaḍau citra ekatra na tau saṃmilataḥ kvacit |
cinmayatvāccidālambhaścidālambhena vedanam || 40 ||

The intellectual and material parts of a person, can never be drawn together in any picture; because the intellectual part having the intellect, has the power of knowledge, which is wanting in the material picture.
