The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

काकतालीयवच्चेतोवासनावशतः स्वतः ।
संवदन्ति महारम्भा व्यवहाराः परस्परम् ॥ २१ ॥

kākatālīyavaccetovāsanāvaśataḥ svataḥ |
saṃvadanti mahārambhā vyavahārāḥ parasparam || 21 ||

It is by mere accident, that men come in possession of the objects of their desire; and it is custom that determines the mode of mutual dealings.
