The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

हेमं हेम्न्यूर्मिकां च त्वं गृहाणेत्युदितो यदि ।
यद्दीयते सोर्मिकेण तत्तदस्ति न संशयः ॥ ४ ॥

hemaṃ hemnyūrmikāṃ ca tvaṃ gṛhāṇetyudito yadi |
yaddīyate sormikeṇa tattadasti na saṃśayaḥ || 4 ||

When the jeweller sells his gold-ring for the price of gold, he undoubtedly delivers the gold which is the substance of the ring and not the ring without its substance.
