The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.116.21

तेन पुरुषेण जातमात्रेणैव बाल्यात्प्रभृति विद्याग्रहणं कर्तव्यं गुरवोऽनुगन्तव्याः ॥ २१ ॥

tena puruṣeṇa jātamātreṇaiva bālyātprabhṛti vidyāgrahaṇaṃ kartavyaṃ guravo'nugantavyāḥ || 21 ||

The male child betakes himself in his boy-hood, to his tutor for the acquisition of knowledge.
