The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सर्वेषु सुखदुःखेषु सर्वासु कलनासु च ।
मनः कर्तृ मनो भोक्तृ मानसं विद्धि मानवम् ॥ २४ ॥

sarveṣu sukhaduḥkheṣu sarvāsu kalanāsu ca |
manaḥ kartṛ mano bhoktṛ mānasaṃ viddhi mānavam || 24 ||

The mind is the active and passive agent of all the actions and passions, and of the pains and pleasures of the body; and it is the mind only that makes the man.
