The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.115.18

चित्ताविद्यामनोजीववासनेति कृतात्मभिः ।
कर्मात्मेति च यः प्रोक्तः स देही दुःखकोविदः ॥ १८ ॥

cittāvidyāmanojīvavāsaneti kṛtātmabhiḥ |
karmātmeti ca yaḥ proktaḥ sa dehī duḥkhakovidaḥ || 18 ||

That which is called the heart, the mind, the living soul, ignorance and desire by the learned, and what is also styled the principle of action, is the same embodied being that is subject both to the feelings of pleasure and pain.
