The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.114.18

यैषा स्वभावातिगतं स्वयं संकल्प्य धावति ।
चिच्चैत्यं स्वयमाम्लाना सा म्लाना तन्मनः स्मृतम् ॥ १८ ॥

yaiṣā svabhāvātigataṃ svayaṃ saṃkalpya dhāvati |
ciccaityaṃ svayamāmlānā sā mlānā tanmanaḥ smṛtam || 18 ||

There resides also the impure mind, which is in its nature beyond all physical objects, and runs after its own desire; it is conceivable by the Intellect as sullied by its own activity.
