The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
यावत्किंचिदिदं दृश्यं साविद्या क्षीयते च सा ।
आत्मभावनया ब्रह्मन्नात्मासौ कीदृशः स्मृतः ॥ ११ ॥

śrīrāma uvāca |
yāvatkiṃcididaṃ dṛśyaṃ sāvidyā kṣīyate ca sā |
ātmabhāvanayā brahmannātmāsau kīdṛśaḥ smṛtaḥ || 11 ||

Rama asked said:—The knowledge of the phenomenals as true, makes what we call avidya or ignorance, and it is said to be dispersed by spiritual knowledge. Now tell me sir, what is the nature of the Spirit.
