The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.113.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
एषा हि वासना नित्यमसत्यैव यदुत्थिता ।
द्विचन्द्रभ्रान्तिवत्तेन त्यक्तुं राघव युज्यते ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
eṣā hi vāsanā nityamasatyaiva yadutthitā |
dvicandrabhrāntivattena tyaktuṃ rāghava yujyate || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—The false desires which continually rise in the breast; are as the appearances of false moons in the sky, and should be shunned by the wise.
