The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.112.16

पौरुषेण प्रयत्नेन यस्मिन्नेव पदे मनः ।
पात्यते तत्पदं प्राप्य भवत्यभ्यासतो हि तत् ॥ १६ ॥

pauruṣeṇa prayatnena yasminneva pade manaḥ |
pātyate tatpadaṃ prāpya bhavatyabhyāsato hi tat || 16 ||

It is by virtue of the exertion of your manly powers and activities, and by force of constant habit and continued practice; that you can succeed to attain any thing, to which, you employ your mind with diligence.
