The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मनोबीजात्समुद्यन्ति सुखदुःखे शुभाशुभे ।
संसारखण्डका एते लोकसप्तकपल्लवाः ॥ ४१ ॥

manobījātsamudyanti sukhaduḥkhe śubhāśubhe |
saṃsārakhaṇḍakā ete lokasaptakapallavāḥ || 41 ||

The mind is the root, that grows the plants of our good and evil and all our weal and woe. The mind is the tree of the world, and all peoples are as its branches and leaves.
