The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वचित्तवृत्तिरेवेह जाग्रत्स्वप्नदृशोदितम् ।
रसावेशादुपादत्ते शैलूष इव भूमिकाम् ॥ ४९ ॥

svacittavṛttireveha jāgratsvapnadṛśoditam |
rasāveśādupādatte śailūṣa iva bhūmikām || 49 ||

These are but the thoughts of our minds, that are seen in our waking dreams; like the various garbs which an actor puts on him, to represent different characters in a play.
