The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.110.42

मनस्यद्रितटारूढे गृहस्थेनापि जन्तुना ।
शुभ्राभ्रकन्दरभ्रान्तिदुःखं समनुभूयते ॥ ४२ ॥

manasyadritaṭārūḍhe gṛhasthenāpi jantunā |
śubhrābhrakandarabhrāntiduḥkhaṃ samanubhūyate || 42 ||

A man sitting at home, and thinking of his standing on the precipice of a mountain, or falling into the hollow cave below, shudders at the idea of his imminent danger: so also one is startled at the prospect of a dreary desert even in his dream, and is bewildered to imagine the vast deep under the clouds.
