The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.110.19

रसनाद्रसतामेति विचित्रास्तत्र वृत्तिषु ।
नाटके नूटवद्देहे मन एवानुवर्तते ॥ १९ ॥

rasanādrasatāmeti vicitrāstatra vṛttiṣu |
nāṭake nūṭavaddehe mana evānuvartate || 19 ||

So it becomes taste being connected with the tongue and palate, and takes many other names besides, according to its other faculties. Thus the mind is the chief actor on the stage of the living animal body.
