The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ततस्तिमिरलेखासु सह तारेन्दुकैरवैः ।
मयीवापाद्यमानासु म्लानतामलमानने ॥ ३१ ॥

tatastimiralekhāsu saha tārendukairavaiḥ |
mayīvāpādyamānāsu mlānatāmalamānane || 31 ||

A melancholy overspread my countenance, as darkness had veiled the face of the night, and my waking eyes kept watching for the day, like blue-lotuses expecting with their watchful eyes the rising moon.
