The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.102.31

भावनामात्र एवास्याः स्वरूपं कर्तृतां गतम् ।
जगन्नामाविलं चक्षुर्व्योम्नि बिम्बरुचामिव ॥ ३१ ॥

bhāvanāmātra evāsyāḥ svarūpaṃ kartṛtāṃ gatam |
jagannāmāvilaṃ cakṣurvyomni bimbarucāmiva || 31 ||

It is the thought or idea of the world, that is the cause of its formal existence, as it is the blinking of the eye, that shows a thousand disks of the sun and moon in the clear sky.
