The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.102.23

कुम्भे गच्छत्यकुम्भत्वं कुम्भाकाशो यथाम्बरे ।
तिष्ठत्येवमयं क्षीणे देहे देही निरामयः ॥ २३ ॥

kumbhe gacchatyakumbhatvaṃ kumbhākāśo yathāmbare |
tiṣṭhatyevamayaṃ kṣīṇe dehe dehī nirāmayaḥ || 23 ||

As a pot being broken, its vacuous part mixes, with the air; so the body being dissolved, the soul remains unhurt in the empty space.
