The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

संसारेऽस्मिन्विहरतो मनोऽपि हि न नश्यति ।
ज्ञानाग्निना विना जन्तोरात्मनाशे तु का कथा ॥ २० ॥

saṃsāre'sminviharato mano'pi hi na naśyati |
jñānāgninā vinā jantorātmanāśe tu kā kathā || 20 ||

The mind also is not relaxed with all its enjoyments of life, unless it is burnt down by the knowledge of truth; why then speak of the annihilation of the soul.
