The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.101.37

संकल्पमात्रमभितः परिस्फुरति चञ्चलः ।
पयोमात्रात्मकोऽम्भोधिरम्भसीवात्मनात्मनि ॥ ३७ ॥

saṃkalpamātramabhitaḥ parisphurati cañcalaḥ |
payomātrātmako'mbhodhirambhasīvātmanātmani || 37 ||

The imaginative power manifests all things all around, as the moving waters, show the rise and fall of the waves in the sea. “It gives a shape of airy nothing”. “It is the power of apprehending ideas and combining them into new forms and assemblages”.
