The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्रतिभासवशादेव मध्यस्थं चित्तजाड्ययोः ।
जीवेतराभिधं चित्तमन्तर्ब्रह्मणि दृश्यते ॥ १२ ॥

pratibhāsavaśādeva madhyasthaṃ cittajāḍyayoḥ |
jīvetarābhidhaṃ cittamantarbrahmaṇi dṛśyate || 12 ||

The power called the living principle, is a reflection of God, and is of a nature between the thinking mind and dull matter, and is derived from Brahma.
