The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.91.45

अहंतापदमन्तात्मपदं विद्धि निरामयम् ।
विदं विदुरहंतादि शैत्यमेव यथा हिमम् ॥ ४५ ॥

ahaṃtāpadamantātmapadaṃ viddhi nirāmayam |
vidaṃ vidurahaṃtādi śaityameva yathā himam || 45 ||

The term ego is inapplicable to the pure and simple internal soul; which being vitiated by the gross idea of its concupiscence, takes the name of ego, as the thickened coldness is called by the name of frost.
