The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.89.28

अपृच्छत ततो राजा खिन्नौ स्थो न तु दुर्मती ।
तावूचतुर्महीपाल जलाशयसमुद्धृतौ ॥ २८ ॥

apṛcchata tato rājā khinnau stho na tu durmatī |
tāvūcaturmahīpāla jalāśayasamuddhṛtau || 28 ||

The king then ordered them to be taken out of the tank, and told them to repent for their crimes; but the infatuated pair, was far from doing so, and replied to the king in the following manner.
