The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.86.26

किं स्यादिह परं श्रेय ऊचुश्चेदं परस्परम् ।
किमिह स्यात्समुचितं भ्रातरः किमदुःखदम् ॥ २६ ॥

kiṃ syādiha paraṃ śreya ūcuścedaṃ parasparam |
kimiha syātsamucitaṃ bhrātaraḥ kimaduḥkhadam || 26 ||

Here they conversed together about their best welfare, and the right course that they should take to avoid the troubles and miseries of life.
