The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ईश्वर उवाच ।
मृदूहामस्मितस्पन्दि प्रोवाचाथ वचः शिवः ।
वरं विप्र गृहाणाशु तुष्टोऽस्मि तव वाञ्छितम् ॥ १५ ॥

īśvara uvāca |
mṛdūhāmasmitaspandi provācātha vacaḥ śivaḥ |
varaṃ vipra gṛhāṇāśu tuṣṭo'smi tava vāñchitam || 15 ||

The god said:—I am pleased with thy devotion, O Brahman! prefer thy prayer to me, and have thy desired boon granted to thee immediately.
