The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.84.30

यतःकुतश्चिदुच्छ्रायं गन्धर्वपुरवन्मनः ।
भ्रान्तिमात्रं तनोतीदं जगदाख्यं स्वजृम्भणम् ॥ ३० ॥

yataḥkutaściducchrāyaṃ gandharvapuravanmanaḥ |
bhrāntimātraṃ tanotīdaṃ jagadākhyaṃ svajṛmbhaṇam || 30 ||

From whatever cause it may have sprung, the world resembles a city rising to view in a vision; just as the thoughts and ideas appearing before the mirror of the mind, from some source of which we know nothing.
