The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.83.7

ततःप्रभृति तत्रत्यो यो यो भवति भूमिपः ।
स कन्दरां भगवतीं प्रतिष्ठापयति स्वयम् ॥ ७ ॥

tataḥprabhṛti tatratyo yo yo bhavati bhūmipaḥ |
sa kandarāṃ bhagavatīṃ pratiṣṭhāpayati svayam || 7 ||

Since then it is the custom of the chiefs of the tribe, to consecrate a newly made statue in honor of the Kandara devi—the goddess of the valley, after the former one is disfigured and dilapidated.
