The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तपसोपार्जितो ब्रह्मा जनतामारणेच्छया ।
विषूचिका प्राणहरा स्यां सूच्यात्मेति भो मया ॥ २३ ॥

tapasopārjito brahmā janatāmāraṇecchayā |
viṣūcikā prāṇaharā syāṃ sūcyātmeti bho mayā || 23 ||

There I obtained the sight of Brahma by the austerity of my devotion; and expressed my desire of killing mankind, in the shape of a destructive needle.
