The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

महतामेव संपर्कात्पुनर्दुःखं न बाधते ।
को हि दीपशिखाहस्तस्तमसा परिभूयते ॥ ८ ॥

mahatāmeva saṃparkātpunarduḥkhaṃ na bādhate |
ko hi dīpaśikhāhastastamasā paribhūyate || 8 ||

Society with the good and great, dispels all our woes; as a lamp in the hand, disperses the surrounding darkness.
