The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
इति राजमुखाच्छुत्वा कर्कटी वनमर्कटी ।
अवबुद्धपदान्तं स्वं जहौ मत्सरचापलम् ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
iti rājamukhācchutvā karkaṭī vanamarkaṭī |
avabuddhapadāntaṃ svaṃ jahau matsaracāpalam || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—The apish Karkati of the forest, having heard the speech of the prince, pondered well in herself the sense of the words, and forsook her levity and malice.
