The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.81.103

द्रुमो बीजतयैवाशु न संत्यक्तसमस्थितिः ।
तिष्ठत्यपगतस्पन्दस्त्यागात्यागपरोऽणुकः ॥ १०३ ॥

drumo bījatayaivāśu na saṃtyaktasamasthitiḥ |
tiṣṭhatyapagataspandastyāgātyāgaparo'ṇukaḥ || 103 ||

The plant does not quickly quit its seed, lest it would be dried up and die away for want of its sap; so the man that sticks to the soul and seed of his being, is free from disease and death.
