Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.81.71

एकस्मिन्प्रतिभासे हि न स द्रष्टृदृश्ययोः ।
पुंप्रत्ययप्रकचने क्व पशुप्रत्ययोदयः ॥ ७१ ॥

ekasminpratibhāse hi na sa draṣṭṛdṛśyayoḥ |
puṃpratyayaprakacane kva paśupratyayodayaḥ || 71 ||

One unity alone being apparent in all nature, it is useless to talk of the duality of the viewer and view. A word with a masculine affix cannot give the sense of a neuter noun.
