The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.81.49

अभुक्तवत्येव यथा भुक्तवानहमित्यलम् ।
जायते प्रत्ययस्तद्वन्निमेषे कल्पनिश्चयः ॥ ४९ ॥

abhuktavatyeva yathā bhuktavānahamityalam |
jāyate pratyayastadvannimeṣe kalpaniścayaḥ || 49 ||

It is the idea only that makes a twinkling, appear a kalpa or many, just as the idea of satiety in starvation, is a mere delusion to the deluded soul.
