The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.80.55

स्वप्नगन्धर्वसंकल्पनगरे कुड्यवेदनम् ।
न सन्नासद्यथा तद्वद्विद्धि दीर्घभ्रमं जगत् ॥ ५५ ॥

svapnagandharvasaṃkalpanagare kuḍyavedanam |
na sannāsadyathā tadvadviddhi dīrghabhramaṃ jagat || 55 ||

Like the appearance of a visionary city in dream, the sight of this world is neither a reality nor altogether unreal; because it is a reflection of the intellect, as the dream is that of images in the memory. It is but a continued medley of error.
