The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

भवन्तौ तद्विदौ साधू यदि तच्छ्रेय आप्नुथः ।
नो चेदनर्थदौ स्वस्याः प्रकृतेरद्म्यहं युवाम् ॥ ४२ ॥

bhavantau tadvidau sādhū yadi tacchreya āpnuthaḥ |
no cedanarthadau svasyāḥ prakṛteradmyahaṃ yuvām || 42 ||

If ye know this polity, it is good and ye shall prosper, or else ye wrong yourselves and your subjects; in which case ye must be made a prey to me.
