The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्फुरन्तीमिव कल्पान्ते वैदूर्यशिखरस्थलीम् ।
हासघट्टितविश्वेशां कालरात्रिमिवोदिताम् ॥ १६ ॥

sphurantīmiva kalpānte vaidūryaśikharasthalīm |
hāsaghaṭṭitaviśveśāṃ kālarātrimivoditām || 16 ||

She stood with her jet black body like a rock of dark agate, and that joined with her loud laugh, gave her the appearance of the all subduing night of dissolution.
