The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्रबुद्धा सा बहिर्वृत्तिर्बभूव क्षुत्परायणा ।
यावद्देहं स्वभावोऽस्य देहस्य न निवर्तते ॥ ५ ॥

prabuddhā sā bahirvṛttirbabhūva kṣutparāyaṇā |
yāvaddehaṃ svabhāvo'sya dehasya na nivartate || 5 ||

Being roused to her sense, she felt the pains of her thirst and hunger; because the nature of the body never forsakes its appetites as long as it lasts in the same state.
