The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सा तामवेक्षते क्षारात्तापादङ्गे निमज्जति ।
संकटे विस्मरत्येव जनो गौरवसत्क्रियाम् ॥ २५ ॥

sā tāmavekṣate kṣārāttāpādaṅge nimajjati |
saṃkaṭe vismaratyeva jano gauravasatkriyām || 25 ||

The shadow of Suchi which was the only attendant on her devotion, hid herself under her feet for fear of the midday heat, so do people in difficulty find their best friends forsake their company in times of adversity.
