The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तस्थावभ्युदितेवासौ निस्तृणे विपुले स्थले ।
मरावकस्मात्संजातशुष्का तृणशिखा यथा ॥ ६ ॥

tasthāvabhyuditevāsau nistṛṇe vipule sthale |
marāvakasmātsaṃjātaśuṣkā tṛṇaśikhā yathā || 6 ||

She sat there as a sprout of grass, springing in that dry and grassless spot; but soon faded away, to a blade of withered hay in the sandy desert.
