The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कपर्दकार्धलाभेन कृपणो बहु मन्यते ।
दुरुच्छेदा हि भूतानामहंकारचमत्कृतिः ॥ ७७ ॥

kapardakārdhalābhena kṛpaṇo bahu manyate |
durucchedā hi bhūtānāmahaṃkāracamatkṛtiḥ || 77 ||

The miserly think much of their gain of even a single cowry: so deeprooted is the avaricious selfishness of human nature.
