The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सा दधाना ततं सूत्रमङ्गुष्ठाङ्गुलिपीडिता ।
आन्त्रतन्तुमिवामान्तमुद्गिरन्ती निरीक्षते ॥ ६३ ॥

sā dadhānā tataṃ sūtramaṅguṣṭhāṅgulipīḍitā |
āntratantumivāmāntamudgirantī nirīkṣate || 63 ||

The colic pain like the piercing needle, being pressed under the fingers, lets off its griping, like the thread of the needle in its act of sewing.
