The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

परपूररसेनैव सूच्या हृत्सुविकासितम् ।
अनारतपतत्सूक्ष्मसूत्रान्त इव स्तम्भिता ॥ ५४ ॥

parapūrarasenaiva sūcyā hṛtsuvikāsitam |
anāratapatatsūkṣmasūtrānta iva stambhitā || 54 ||

The malady of colic, like the needle, is ever fond of feeding on the pith of others with its open mouth; and continually finds the thread-like heartstring of some body put into its hole.
