The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.70.23

नाशोऽपि सुखयत्यज्ञमेकवस्त्वतिरागिणम् ।
सूचीभूता विदेहापि परितुष्टैव राक्षसी ॥ २३ ॥

nāśo'pi sukhayatyajñamekavastvatirāgiṇam |
sūcībhūtā videhāpi parituṣṭaiva rākṣasī || 23 ||

Even death is delectable to the giddy headed, when they are overfond of some thing else; as the minim of a meagre needle was desirable to the monstrous fiend for the gratification of her fiendish desire.
