The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.70.8

कज्जलाम्भोदसंकल्कलतेव पवनाहृता ।
सूक्ष्मरन्ध्रेक्षणस्वच्छदृष्टज्योतिःकनीनिका ॥ ८ ॥

kajjalāmbhodasaṃkalkalateva pavanāhṛtā |
sūkṣmarandhrekṣaṇasvacchadṛṣṭajyotiḥkanīnikā || 8 ||

Her rolling eye-balls, were as dark as the spots of black clouds, moved to and fro by the winds; and her sparkling pupils were gazing at the bright glory (of God); piercing through their tenuous pores. (It is explained also as fixing the eye-sight to some chink.
