The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथा संपद्यते ब्रह्मा कीटः संपद्यते तथा ।
कीटस्तु रूढभूतौघवलनात्तुच्छकर्मकः ॥ ६९ ॥

yathā saṃpadyate brahmā kīṭaḥ saṃpadyate tathā |
kīṭastu rūḍhabhūtaughavalanāttucchakarmakaḥ || 69 ||

The same cause that produces Brahma, produces the insects also; and it is the greater depravity of the mind, that causes its transmigration, into the contemptible forms of worms.
