Verse 3.67.25

संसृतिर्जाग्रदित्युक्तं स्वप्नं विदुरहंकृतिम् ।
चित्तं सुषुप्तभावः स्याच्चिन्मात्रं तुर्यमुच्यते ॥ २५ ॥

saṃsṛtirjāgradityuktaṃ svapnaṃ vidurahaṃkṛtim |
cittaṃ suṣuptabhāvaḥ syāccinmātraṃ turyamucyate || 25 ||

The objective world is referred to waking said:—Jagrat, because it is perceived in the waking state of the soul; and the subjective mind is allied to sleep—swapna, because the mind is active during the sleeping and dreaming states. The ego is related to deep sleep—sushupta, when we are unconscious of ourselves, and the fourth or pure Intellect—turiya or turya, is the trance or hybernation of the soul.
