The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अहमेवं कुलाचारे राजा स्यामेवमित्यपि ।
विदूरथविदो रत्नादुदिता प्रतिभा यथा ॥ ५१ ॥

ahamevaṃ kulācāre rājā syāmevamityapi |
vidūrathavido ratnāduditā pratibhā yathā || 51 ||

Padma thought to become a king like Viduratha, in the proper discharge of the duties of his royal family; and this constant thought of himself as such, cast the mould of the mind and manner of Viduratha upon him.
