The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.60.29

भवतीति महाबाहो यथासंवेदनं जगत् ।
अनभ्यस्ताः पदार्था ये शास्त्रपाठजपादयः ॥ २९ ॥

bhavatīti mahābāho yathāsaṃvedanaṃ jagat |
anabhyastāḥ padārthā ye śāstrapāṭhajapādayaḥ || 29 ||

Thus Rama! it is by habitual meditation, that we gain the abstract knowledge of things; as on the other hand we forget what we learnt, by want of their recapitulation.
