The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

नरो यथैकदेशस्थो दूरदेशान्तरस्थितम् ।
संपश्यति निधानं स्वं मनसानारतं सदा ॥ २४ ॥

naro yathaikadeśastho dūradeśāntarasthitam |
saṃpaśyati nidhānaṃ svaṃ manasānārataṃ sadā || 24 ||

As a man placed in one country, sees within himself his house, which is situated in a far distant land; so the soul sees the objects of his distant desires, ever present before it.
