The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जीर्णपर्णसवर्णाभः क्षीणपाण्डुमुखच्छविः ।
भृङ्गध्वनितसच्छायश्वासकूजाविकूणितः ॥ २ ॥

jīrṇaparṇasavarṇābhaḥ kṣīṇapāṇḍumukhacchaviḥ |
bhṛṅgadhvanitasacchāyaśvāsakūjāvikūṇitaḥ || 2 ||

His body became as lean as a dry leaf, and his face turned as ghastly as the figure of death; his throat gurgled as the hoarsest beetles, and his lungs breathed with a bated breath.
