The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.55.18

अथ मध्यमपापो यो मृतिमोहादनन्तरम् ।
सशिलाजठरं जाड्यं कंचित्कालं प्रपश्यति ॥ १८ ॥

atha madhyamapāpo yo mṛtimohādanantaram |
saśilājaṭharaṃ jāḍyaṃ kaṃcitkālaṃ prapaśyati || 18 ||

Those of lesser crimes, are made to feel the inertness of stones for sometime, after the insensibility attending upon their death.
